Location:Near Richmond, on KY 627. Take exit 95 off I-75 or exit at Winchester off I-64.
Facilities:167 campsites with water and electric hookups, primitive campsites, activities building, showers, restrooms, laundry, grocery store, 3 picnic shelters, playground, interpretive trail, swimming pool with water slide, wading pool, and rain tree, snack bar,18-hole miniature golf course, boat ramps, museum, meeting room, gift shop.
Activities:Camping, fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing, hiking, recreational programs (seasonal), fort tours (seasonal).
Special Features:In 1775 Daniel Boone and his company reached the Kentucky River, where they established Kentucky's second settlement. That settlement, Fort Boonesborough, has been reconstructed as a working fort with cabins, blockhouses, and furnishings, and resident artisans perform craft demonstrations and give modern-day visitors a true sense of what life was like for pioneers in Kentucky.
