Fort Harrison State Park
Location:Post Road and 59th Street in northeast Indianapolis.
Facilities:18-hole golf course, resort suites, conference/meeting rooms, dining
hall, trails, nature center, picnic areas, playgrounds, play fields, shelters, saddle barn, nature
shop/store, historic sites.
Activities:Golfing, fishing, ice fishing, hiking, bicycling, interpretive programs, horse trail rides (guided rentals; seasonal),
bird watching, sledding, cross-country skiing.
Special Features:An active army fort until 1995, Fort Harrison is the former site of the
Citizen's Military Training Camp and a World War II prisoner-of-war
camp. These camps are preserved at the park's headquarters location.
