Fort Mott State Park
Location:On Fort Mott Road, 3 miles off Route 49 East.
Facilities:Historic site, picnic area, picnic shelter, group picnic area with
playfields and playground, nature trail (é), welcome center with displays.
Activities:Fishing, cross-country skiing, sledding, historical programs.
Special Features:Fort was part of a coastal defense system built to defend the Delaware
River. Fortifications seen there today were built in 1896 in
anticipation of the Spanish-American War. Visitors can follow
interpretive signs with detailed descriptions through the old batteries.
