Frances Slocum State Park
Location:10 miles from Wilkes-Barre off PA 309.
Facilities:100 class A campsites (some with electricity), group tent camp, showers, flush toilets, picnic areas, picnic pavilions, hiking trails (9 miles), snowmobile trails (7 miles), fishing pier (é), swimming pool, boat rentals, boat launch, mooring.

Special Features:Park is named for Frances Slocum, a young Quaker girl who was kidnapped by a Lenni Lenape raiding party in 1778. She spent the rest of her life with the tribe, married twice, and had four children. She died in New Reserve, Indiana, in 1847 at the age of 74. Near Peru, Indiana, there is a state recreation area named for her (see Mississinewa Lake entry in Indiana State Parks section).
