G.727

An ITU standard for speech codecs that uses the ADPCM method to compress 64 Kbps PCM into 40, 32, 24 or 16 Kbps to accommodate the available network. G.727 is a specialized version of G.726 intended for packet-based systems using the Packetized Voice Protocol (PVP). See G. standards, G.726 and ADPCM.
