Gardez

 

a city in eastern Afghanistan. Population, about 40,000. Junction of motor roads to Kabul and Ghazni and to Pakistan and of caravan routes from the Sulaiman Mountains region to Hazarajat. There is commerce in hides and small cattle in Gardez.
