Grafton Lakes State Park
Location:Off Route 2, 12 miles east of Troy.
Facilities:Picnic areas and pavilions (é), multi-use trails (25 miles), nature
center, food concession (é), swimming beach (é), boat launches
(canoes, rowboats, sailboats), boat rentals, playground.
Activities:Boating (electric motors only), canoeing, fishing (é), swimming,
hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling,
snowshoeing, ice skating, deer and small game hunting (in season),
recreation programs, education programs.
Special Features:Park is located on the forested mountain ridge between the Taconic and
Hudson valleys. It includes five ponds (all with launch facilities) and
the Shaver Pond Nature Center.
