Greenstein, Jesse Leonard
Greenstein, Jesse Leonard
(1909– ) astrophysicist; born in New York City. A research fellow at the University of Chicago's Yerkes Observatory (1937–39), he also taught there and worked at the McDonald Observatory (1939–48). He moved to the California Institute of Technology where he taught while observing at the Hale Observatory from 1948–80. He wrote about the nature of interstellar matter.
