HDML (Handheld Device Markup Language), which was developed by Unwired Planet and is closer to standard HMTL than WML.
Another similar language (which is relatively less compliant to the W3C HTML recommendation) is the Hand-held Device Markup Language (
HDML) [HDML 1997].
The three mobile phone companies agreed that Unwired Planet's Handheld Device Markup Language (
HDML) and its accompanying transport protocol (HDTP) would be an appropriate basis for such a standard.
