HERMSEN

(Homogeneous Emergency Recovery Managed Storage Enterprise Network) An earlier distributed storage network from AVC Global Services that split an individual RAID system across geographic boundaries. By distributing live data across multiple sites, it added disaster recovery to the fault tolerance built into RAID without doubling storage server costs. Also known as a D-SEN (Distributed Storage Enterprise Network).
