Hartmann dispersion formula
[′härt·män di′sper·zhən ‚fȯr·myə·lə] (optics)
A semiempirical formula relating the index of refraction n and wavelengths λ; n = n0+ a /(λ - λ0), where n0, a, and λ0 are empirical constants. Also known as Cornu-Hartmann formula.
