The largest impact basin on Mars, approximately 1240 miles (2000 kilometers) across and 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) deep, appearing as a bright circular region in earth-based telescopes.

Hellas

 

a name used by several ancient writers for a region in northern Greece. It was applied by Homer to an area in southern Thessaly and by Aristotle to an area in Epirus. When all Greeks came to regard themselves as Hellenes, it was applied to Greece as a whole.
