Heller, Maximilian

Heller, Maximilian

(1860–1929) rabbi; born in Prague, Bohemia (now Czech Republic). He came to the U.S.A. in 1879. He was rabbi of Temple Sinai in New Orleans (1887–1927). A leader in Reform Judaism and an early Zionist, he was professor of Hebrew language and literature at Tulane University (1912–28).
