Ian Brown, EBRD Head of Bosnia and
Herzegovina, said: 'We are pleased to sign this agreement today which illustrates the good progress that is being made with the construction of Corridor Vc.
He recalled the support and assistance of Bangladesh extended to Bosnia and
Herzegovina and in this regard, mentioned the outstanding role played by the Bangladesh peacekeepers, who participated in UNPROFOR in large numbers.
He stressed the need for new synergies of parliamentary cooperation between Pakistan and Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
The Governor also mentioned that the Reform Agenda has been related to the financial sector in Bosnia and
Herzegovina in the part referring to the question of improving banking supervision in accordance with international standards, and in the part where one try to find ways to revive the banking sector in lending sector.
Government assistance to Bosnia and
Herzegovina aims to fully anchor the country in European and Euro-Atlantic institutions, strengthen multi-ethnic democratic institutions and civil society, support strong State-level judiciary and law enforcement sectors, and increase prosperity and attractiveness to foreign investors.
I believe that it is of particular importance for Bosnia and
Herzegovina to develop comprehensive and mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Macedonia and to keep improving it in line with European standards.
During his meetings with Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and
Herzegovina Mladen Ivanic, Plevneliev will discuss topics such as EU prospects for the Western Balkans, regional cooperation in Southeastern Europe, energy diversification, economic and investment cooperation, and partnership in the sphere of security, according to a media statement of the Presidentas press office.
The referendum for the independence of Bosnia and
Herzegovina was held on the recommendation of the Arbitration Commission of the International Conference on Yugoslavia in the final stage of dissolution of former Yugoslavia.
