Location:Northern Idaho, south of Coeur d'Alene.
Facilities:132 campsites (some with electricity), 2 rental cottages, picnic shelters, trails, restrooms, showers, boat ramp, marina, store, cruise boat, volleyball area, playground, developed wildlife viewing site, interpretive center.
Activities:Camping, swimming, fishing, boating, water-skiing, sailing, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, waterfowl hunting, guided nature walks, wildlife observation, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Created in 1908, Heyburn is the oldest state park in the Pacific Northwest and includes 3 lakes: Chatcolet, Benewah, and Hidden lakes. In addition, the Saint Joe River meanders along the eastern boundary of the park. Before it was a park, this area was a gathering place for the Coeur d'Alene Indian tribe.
