Horst Anticline

 

an arch-shaped fold of stratified rock with sides that are downcast along the faults. Because of this the core of the fold protrudes in the form of a horst. Horst anticlines are characteristic of relatively consolidated areas of the earth’s crust—in particular, young platforms.
