Hubli

 

a city in India, in Mysore State; administratively linked with the city of Dharwar. Population, 379,700 (1971). Hubli is a transportation junction and an industrial and commercial center. The city manufactures machinery, cotton fabrics, leather products, and soap. Hubli has a railroad workshop.

Shettar is contesting the elections from Hubli-Dharwad Central constituency.
Among those ahead initially include Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar (Hubli-Dharwad Central), Yeddyurappa (Shikaripura) and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah (Varuna).
It said steps to provide 24x7 water supply in the project area as has happened in other cities like Nagpur, Hubli-Dharwad, Gulbarga and in a number of other Asian and African cities are in the pipeline.
