Huguet, Jaime

 

Died 1492 in Barcelona. Spanish painter of the Catalan school of the early Renaissance.

Huguet worked from 1440 to 1447 in Zaragoza and later in Tarragona, settling in Barcelona in 1448. He painted compositions for retablos, paying special attention to the expressive individual features of the saints. His most notable works include retablos in the Church of San Miguel in Tarrasa (1459–60) and the sacristy of the cathedral in Barcelona (1462).
