IR blaster

IR blaster

A device that showers infrared (IR) signals over a wide area. It is used to "blast" signals into a stereo or home theater rack when the equipment is behind closed cabinet doors. See IR remote control, RF remote control and Wi-Fi remote control.

Like many other Xiaomi models, the Mi A3 comes with an inbuilt IR blaster to double as a remote.
Redmi Note 7 also includes an IR blaster capable of controlling numerous home appliances, such as televisions or air conditioners.
