Established: 1960. Description:Seeks to protect wild horses and burros by encouraging enforcement of
existing protective laws and assisting in the development of new laws
to protect wild horses and burros and their habitat. Sponsors
educational programs to increase appreciation and understanding.
Fosters cooperative efforts with government agencies for the benefit of
wild horses and burros. Members: 1,000. Dues: $35/year ($15/year for youth, $25/year for seniors).
Publications: Wild Horse and Burro Diary; free to members, $35/year for nonmembers.
