Ion-Electron Emission

 

the emission of electrons into a vacuum by the surface of a solid under the action of ion bombardment. The phenomenon of ion-electron emission is used in electron multipliers and electron microscopes, as well as in studies of plasma physics, the structure of solids, and the defects in the structure.
