Location:About 80 miles south of Chicago, 2 miles north and 3 miles east of Beaverville.
Facilities:Picnic areas, sanitary facilities, trails, dog training area, archery range, shooting range, concession (during hunting season).
Activities:Hiking, hunting, archery, snowmobiling.
Special Features:The area exhibits some of the finest and most extensive prairie marsh, sedge meadow, and sand dune vegetation remaining in Illinois. The majority of the area, 2,000 acres, is managed as a public hunting area (primarily permit pheasant hunting). The remainder is a dedicated nature preserve.
