K stars

Stars of spectral type K, orange in color and with a surface temperature (T _eff) of about 3500 to 4900 kelvin. The spectral lines of calcium (Ca II and Ca I) are strong and neutral metal lines are very prominent; molecular bands strengthen. Arcturus and Aldebaran are K stars.
