Kabotie, Fred (b. Nakavoma)

(1900–86) Hopi painter, silversmith; born in Shungopavi, Ariz. Internationally recognized as a leading interpreter and creator of Hopi art, he published and illustrated numerous books and received commissions and held exhibitions around the world.
