Kirkcaldy

 

a city and port in Great Britain, in Scotland, on the Firth of Forth. Population, 52,000 (1970). It has linen, carpet, and food industries. Oil-cloth and linoleum are produced. There also are casting, boiler-making, and textile machine-building industries. Coal mines are located nearby.
