Kort nozzle
[′kȯrt ‚näz·əl] (naval architecture)
A cylindrical tube enclosing a screw propeller on a ship to decrease the tip losses and increase the efficiency; the walls of the tube are streamlined where clear of the ship's hull; adopted in many river towboats and recently in large tankers.
