Kungur Peshchera

 

a cave on the shore of the Sylva River near the city of Kungur in Perm’ Oblast, RSFSR. It is formed of gypsums and anhydrides in the Kungur layer of the Perm’ system. The total length of its tunnels and grottoes is 5.6 km. There are several lakes within the cave. In the Brilliantovyi, Poliarnyi, and other grottoes near the cave’s entrance are many ice crystals, stalagmites, and stalactites. The cave has been wired for electricity and is a popular tourist attraction.
