Kuria Muria

 

a group of five rocky islands off the southern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, belonging to the People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen. The islands have a total area of 76 sq km, and the maximum elevation is 502 m (on Hallaniya). They are composed of limestone and gneiss. The chief industries are guano processing and sardine fishing.
