Kurumdy

 

a peak in the eastern part of the Trans-Alai Range on the border between the Kirghiz SSR and the Tadzhik SSR, near the Chinese border. Altitude, 6,610 m. There are two major glaciers on the peak: Kurumdy (length, 17.2 km; area, 60.6 sq km), in the basin of the Markansu River, and Kyzylsu (length, 13.7 km; area, 69.4 sq km), in the sources of the Vostochnyi Kyzylsu River (Kashgar Basin).
