In June 1908, the judge of the first subdistrict of
Kuznetsk uezd set out to investigate more than 30 cases in the village of Iaminskoe, but heavy rains caused the taiga rivers to wash out all the bridges.

Kuznetsk Alatau (always < 1% cover).

Moose were also eliminated in the adjoining regions lying to the north and northwest in the Kemerovo region in
Kuznetsk Alatau (Sobansky 1992), in the South Altai, and the adjoining Kazakhstan regions (Sludsky 1953).
The Russian visitors were representing Novo
Kuznetsk, in south-west Siberia - a town heavily reliant on the steel industry.
Further, materials used in the construction of the metro included iron from Siberian
Kuznetsk, timber from northern Russia, cement from the Volga region and the northern Caucasus, bitumen from Baku, and marble and granite from quarries in Karelia, the Crimea, the Caucasus, the Urals, and the Soviet Far East.
