Laeso

 

an island in the Kattegat; part of Denmark. Area, 111 sq km; population, 2,700 (1970). The surface is flat and low; a band of dunes, rising to 21 m, stretches along the northern shore. Rye, oats, and sugar beets are grown on the island, which also has dairy cattle.
