portal cirrhosis
[′pȯrd·əl sə′rō·səs] (medicine)
Replacement of normal liver structure by abnormal lobules of liver cells, often hyperplastic, delimited by bands of fibrous tissue, giving the gross appearance of a finely nodular surface. Also known as Laennec's cirrhosis.
