Location:Southern Illinois, in Jackson County, 1 mile west of Murphysboro off IL 149.
Facilities:54 trailer campsites with electricity (3 @di), 20 tent sites (1 @di), showers, picnic area, picnic shelters, restrooms (é), playground, fishing pier (é), concession area, hiking trail, boat rentals, archery range.
Activities:Camping, boating (10 HP limit), canoeing, fishing, hiking.
Special Features:The 145-acre Lake Murphysboro (a manmade, stocked lake) is a tributary of Indian Creek and has a watershed of about 4,500 acres. The lake has 7.5 miles of shoreline, with a maximum water depth of 36 feet. A 600-foot dam is located at the south end of the park.
