Land of the Yankee Fork State Park
Location:Central Idaho, south of Challis.
Facilities:Museum store, restroom facilities, walking path (é), hiking trail,
interpretive center. Camping opportunities are available at Forest
Service and Bureau of Land Management campgrounds nearby. Whitewater
rafting is also available nearby.
Activities:Museum exhibits, gold panning station, interpretive programs, special events.
Special Features:Park is part of the larger Land of the Yankee Fork Historic Area
managed jointly by the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, the
Salmon-Challis National Forest, and the Bureau of Land Management. The
Interpretive Center in Challis has museum exhibits and provides
information on local mining history and area attractions.
