For example, two 1000BASE-T connections may be required to support a single 802.11ac WAP (this is often referred to as link aggregation) if I OGBASE-T uplink capacity is not supported by existing equipment (refer to figure 2, which depicts two horizontal link connections to each equipment outlet).
As Siemon's white paper explains, a grid-based shielded category 6A zone cabling approach, using consolidation points housed in zone enclosures, is an ideal way to provide sufficient spare port density to support 1000BASE-T link aggregation to each 802.11ac WAP as necessary, whilst also allowing for more efficient port utilisation when 10GBASE-T Wi-Fi equipment connections become available.
Additional functionality integrated into the VMS Wizard is the configuration of high availability based on Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation (mLAG).
The XTM models feature dynamic routing, wide area network (WAN) failover, server load balancing, and link aggregation.
The GIE64+ provides link aggregation, increasing double-speed networking by merging 2 Gigabit Ethernet pathways into a single connection.
It supports Ethernet virtual connections for IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, 802.1ad or "QinQ," Resilient Ethernet Protocol, 802.3ad Link Aggregation Bundles, Layer 2 Protocol Tunneling (L2PT), and Ethernet over MPLS (EoMPLS), among other features.
The testing by EANTC validated items such as IPv4 forwarding, IPV4 multicast forwarding, IPv6 forwarding, RSVP-TE, MPLS label forwarding, HQoS, L2VPN, L3VPN, load balancing based on IP routes, load balancing based on Link Aggregation, full-rate forwarding for all packet sizes tested and all-service power consumption and stability.
This is called a link aggregation and they can be classified into approximated line, single path parameter, best case of multiple path parameters and worst case of multiple path parameters link aggregation.
For the first time, the WTM 6000 incorporates the latest packet transport features that have until now only been available in lower capacity microwave systems, such as built-in Ethernet switching, link aggregation and traffic prioritisation and Quality of Service controls.
-- Control and Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP) - enabled Switching Silicon - hardware-accelerated CAPWAP processing and forwarding -- Line-rate Centralized Switching - three-stream ready for up to 128 dual-radio 802.11n APs with 8Gbps of line-rate wireless switching -- Scalability - capable of handling traffic from 2-stream and 3-stream APs ensuring scalable, long-term deployments -- High Availability - dual power, hitless-failover, link aggregation, controller virtualization and clustering, and self optimizing/self healing.
In more mainstream data centers, 10GBASE-T will be used in applications where previously multiple 1-gigabit links needed to be deployed with "link aggregation" and can now be replaced by a single cable, providing both cost and ease-of-management benefits.
