Raimondi's chief operations officer, Eng Domenico Ciano, said the LRH174's installation process is similar to that of flattops, since the machine does not feature A-frames and tie rods traditionally used in
luffers.
The "high number of cranes already at work on neighbouring sites" made the LR213
luffers "ideal" for the project, "as the machines will not exceed project boundaries".
Nurol decided that the Raimondi
luffers were the best fit for this jobsite based on a number of factors including the LR213's agility and its 14 tonne maximum capacity, he added.
