In the collaborative study, researchers assessed 1,024 tumors for
MMR and categorized them into 1 of 4 groups: normal (62.4%), epigenetic MMR-defective (25.78%), MMR-probable mutation (9.67%), or MSI-low (2.15%).
MMR coverage was highest in the North East of England (95.2 per cent) and lowest in London (87.3 per cent).
"To our knowledge, [this is] the first report that MMRV is associated with a similar increased risk of ITP during the same postvaccination risk intervals as
MMR," the investigators said.
Of 1,260 pupils at the school, 62 are recorded as having received no doses of the
MMR vaccine and 142 have received only one dose.
