MS-DOS

(MicroSoft-Disk Operating System) An earlier single user operating system for PCs from Microsoft. MS-DOS singularly caused the personal computer industry to explode. It was functionally identical to IBM's PC-DOS version, and both MS-DOS and PC-DOS were called DOS. For more details, see DOS and PC clone.
