Location:Off Kalanianaole Highway (Highway 72) from either Waimanalo or Hawaii Kai.
Facilities:Scenic lookout; no drinking water, no restrooms.
Activities:Hiking.
Special Features:A one-mile hike (one way) along a former roadway leads to a lighthouse. Various points along the way offer sweeping views of southeastern Oahu's coastline, where whales can sometimes be seen offshore. The hike is an uphill climb to a 500-foot elevation under hot, dry, and windy conditions.
