Mandell, Arnold
Mandell, Arnold (Joseph)
(1934– ) psychiatrist; born in Chicago. A Tulane University M.D., he spent his career on the University of California's psychiatry faculty, mostly at San Diego (1969). His extensive bibliography includes many works on the neurobiology of mental disorders, psychopharmacology, and drug abuse, a specialty in which he served on several national commissions. He was awarded a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship (1984).
