Minkowski distance function

[miŋ′kəf·skē or min′kau̇·skē ′dis·təns ‚fəŋk·shən]
(mathematics)
Relative to a convex body with the origin O in its interior, the function whose value at a point P is the distance ratio OP / OQ, where Q is the point of the convex body on the ray OP that is furthest from O.
