Location:Near LeRoy, just east of Bloomington/Normal, off I-74.
Facilities:137 Class A trailer campsites with water and electricity, 32 primitive Class D campsites, 2 group camping areas, and 30 Class A horsemen's campsites with water, electricity, and hitching racks; 8 picnic areas, 5 picnic shelters, 4 playgrounds; swimming beach, fishing pier (é), boat ramp, dock, boat rentals; restaurant and concession stand; hiking trails, bridle trails (10 miles), ski trails (7 miles), snowmobile trails, horse rentals for trail rides.
Activities:Camping, boating (10 HP limit), canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, ice skating.
Special Features:When the glaciers of the last Ice Age moved through central Illinois 15,000 years ago, they pushed massive amounts of rock and earth before them, leaving in their wake long and expansive ridges across the landscape called moraines. Moraine View is located in the middle of one of the largest moraines in the state of Illinois.
