Muncie

 

a city in the northern USA, in Indiana. Located on the White River. Population, 69,000 (1970; approximately 129,000 including the suburbs). Muncie is a commercial and transportation center; in 1970 there were 20,000 people employed in industry. Large glass factories, various types of metalworking enterprises, and manufacturers of motor vehicle parts, electrical equipment, and canned goods are there.
