a promontory on the Boothia Peninsula; the northernmost point of the North American mainland (71°50’ N lat. and 94°45’ W long.).


Murchison

 

a river in western Australia. Length, approximately 700 km. The river originates in the Robinson Ranges and flows into the Indian Ocean. The Murchison flows only in winter, during the rainy season; in summer it dries up in places, forming a number of lakes.
