Musala

 

a peak in Bulgaria, in the Rila Mountains. It is the highest peak on the Balkan Peninsula (2,925 m). The relief is mountain-glacier. Musala is composed of granite. A meteorological station is located on the mountain. Hiking and mountaineering are important attractions of the area.
