Musgrave, Richard Abel
(1910– ) economist; born in Konigstein, Germany. He emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1933, took his Ph.D. at Harvard (1937), and continued to teach there. His book, The Theory of Public Finance (McGraw-Hill, 1959), provided a definitive text that incorporates the economics of public finance into economic theory as a whole.
