muzzle velocity

muzzle velocity

The velocity of a projectile with respect to the muzzle at the instant the projectile leaves the weapon. The muzzle velocity of a bullet fired from an aircraft is unaffected by the speed of the aircraft (e.g., a bullet fired backward from a tail gun has the same muzzle velocity as if fired forward).
