MyEureka

Corporate portal software originally from Information Advantage, Inc., Eden Prairie, MN. MyEureka provided HTML templates and Java-based server applications for developing a corporate intranet. It included a search engine and repository for linking enterprise-wide information as well as agents that could deliver custom Web pages to different user groups as well as individual news pages to each user.

MyEureka supported Information Advantage's own OLAP and ROLAP products, as well as databases from SAP, PeopleSoft and others. Information Advantage coined the term "business intelligence portal" to define this product family, because it was the first to integrate BI software (query, reporting, OLAP) with the portal framework. The company was acquired by Sterling Software Corporation in 1999, and the MyEureka product family was renamed Eureka Strategy. Eighteen months later, Sterling was acquired by Computer Associates (CA), and Eureka fell under CA's CleverPath umbrella.

Sterling Software, which bought the MyEureka line business intelligence web portal technology originally developed by Information Advantage, was itself acquired outright by Computer Associates in May 2000 for about $4bn.

Cognos Talks Up Results, Outlines New Products
Information Advantage says that its MyEureka! business intelligence software has met the technical requirements of Oracle's new product certification programme and has received the "e-certified warehouse" designation from Oracle as a proof that the software easily integrates with Oracle's e-business warehouse systems.

Peoplesoft has already gone to Information Advantage Inc for a similar OEM deal, and is using its MyEureka! relational online analytical processing engine as the suite's exclusive ROLAP engine.
Peoplesoft Goes to Informatica for Data Mart
Information Advantage Inc has won a contract to provide its MyEureka! business intelligence software to an unnamed US-based beverage manufacturer, which will use the product to deliver sales and production information securely to its distributors.

Peoplesoft International Inc has signed a multi-year development and VAR agreement with Information Advantage Inc for its MyEureka! relational online analytical processing engine, which Peoplesoft says it will use as its exclusive ROLAP engine.
