Myxinoidea
[‚mik·sə′nȯid·ē·ə] (vertebrate zoology)
The hagfishes, an order of eellike, jawless vertebrates (Agnatha) distinguished by having the nasal opening at the tip of the snout and leading to the pharynx, with barbels around the mouth and 6-15 pairs of gill pouches.
