Nanch’ung

 

a city in China, located in Szechuan Province on the Chia-ling Chiang, a tributary of the Yangtze. Population, 193,000 (1959). The city is a river port. Silk weaving and food production are the principal industries. Nanch’ung is also a refining center serving nearby oil fields.
